Injury Recovery Program / Active Rehabilitation ICBC Program helps you rehabilitate your injuries. The program names are different, but both programs are similar. The difference is Injury Recovery is the general program name for any injury that needs rehabilitation, while Active Rehabilitation ICBC is the program name specific for patients healing an injury related to a car accident. The goals are the same:
- Heal your injuries
- Reduce or eliminate pain
- Correct muscle imbalances
- Restore function
- Return to activities of daily living, work, and leisure
WHO
We work with anyone with an injury from the general public. We also work with patients injured in a car accident where an ICBC claim is open. We are an approved health care provider with ICBC and part of their recovery network. You may qualify for active rehabilitation kinesiology treatments covered by ICBC. Contact them or us to find out.

TREATMENT MODALITIES
The treatment modalities used to heal your injury can involve any of the following depending on what’s right for you:
- Strength exercises
- Cardiovascular conditioning
- Flexibility exercises/range of motion exercises/stretches
- Soft tissue release (manual therapy of passive release and active release with massage techniques)
HEALING TIME
Depending on the severity of the injury and how long you’ve had it will often reflect the healing time. If it is a serious chronic injury, it will take longer to rehabilitate. Whereas a minor acute injury will heal faster.

- Mobile (your place). ICBC only approves this option when it’s difficult for the patient to travel.
WHY NOW
A common mistake is waiting too long to rehabilitate the injuries. This delays healing and allows the body to set in ways that do not heal well. You do not want to be stuck with an injury for years when it can be healed in months just by working on it sooner.
